Using a Procedural Map

Procedurally generated maps are created at random with a specific seed and size, you can view generated maps and even generate your own over at our partner RustMaps.com! Adding one to your Physgun Rust Server is super easy, simply follow the steps below.

Visit RustMaps.com and find a map you would like to use!
Once you have found a map click the Use button on the left to open up the instructions panel, the Physgun tab will have the proper instructions
In the Physgun Gamepanel navigate to Your Server > Configuration > Server Options and look for the World Size and World Seed options

Anycast and the Garry's Mod server list explained

Anycast is a technology that handles routing in a way where incoming requests can be routed through the nearest location to a client’s incoming connection.

Our network protection provider leverages the mass amount of locations and PoPs (Point of Presence) to cache the Source Engines A2S responce at the edge locations, responding to the serverlists requests at the a location closer to the player.

Setting up your GSLT token for your Garry’s Mod Server

Setting up the GSLT token is very important if you want your server to be publicly listed on the server list. It’s thankfully very easy and simple to add and this guide will show you how to do it on your Physgun server!

Obtaining your GSLT key

To do this you first want to navigate to Valve’s GSLT Page and login to your Steam account. Please note you will need to own a copy of Garry’s Mod.

At the bottom of the page you will find the form.

Creating a GSLT token for Garry's Mod

For Garry’s Mod you will want to enter the App ID of 4000. For the memo you can keep it blank or label it, your choice!

Now you should have a key tied to your Steam account!

The “Login Token” will be the key you put into the Startup Parameters in the Physgun gamepanel. || Please note you will have to generate a new key per-gmod server!

Head over to the Developer Portal on Discord
At the top click New Application
Give your bot a Name, and Select a team, Personal is fine - then click Create

This name will be visible publicly on the bot
You can setup a profile picture later in the settings
